Reliant and its parent company NRG Energy announced a partnership with Houston Texans' defensive end J.J. Watt to promote Reliant and the NRG Companies', "customer-centric products and solutions to power every lifestyle"

"J.J. is a game-changer and the best in the field. But he's more than that. He's even there when you don't expect it, like switching from defense to offense to catch a pass, and putting points on the board," said Elizabeth Killinger, president of NRG Retail and Reliant. "Simply put, J.J. is always doing more for his team, fans and the community and consistently delivers the unexpected. Just like J.J., Reliant and the NRG family offer more as well, powering people at home and on-the-go by delivering electricity as well as energy management, home security, home automation, solar power, electric vehicle charging and other products and services. That's our commitment to being there for our customers."

As part of the partnership with Watt, who wears #99 for the Texans, Reliant has created several special offers:

Reliant Texans Plan – An electricity plan with a 12-month term for 9.9 cents/kWh (CenterPoint TDU area, rate quote at 2,000 kWh, EFL 1,000 kWh rate is 10.3¢ cents/kWh) that includes a J.J. Watt replica jersey as well as a $25 donation benefiting the Justin J. Watt Foundation and the Houston Texans Foundation. More information is available at reliant.com/texansplan.

For security offered by Reliant, customers can receive the first three months of service for only $9.99 per month and free professional installation. Offer valid for customers who schedule an installation by June 30, and package details are available at reliant.com/connect.

NRG is offering $99 discount on NRG backup generators.

In addition, NRG is having more than 700 solar panels installed at NRG Park, set to be operational before the Texans start their 2015 season. This update will complement the LED lights at NRG Stadium and its covered eVgo parking lot where electric vehicles can charge during events.
