TXU Parent Grows Residential, C&I Retail Energy Customer Count During Q1

Energy Future Holdings, parent of TXU Energy and 4Change Energy, recorded an increase in both its residential and C&I retail energy customer count during the three months ended March 31, 2015, EFH said in a 10-Q

EFH's retail suppliers saw their residential customer count grow by 4,000 customers from December 31, 2014 to March 31, 2015.

This reverses the net decline 3,000 residential customers from September 30, 2014 to December 31, 2014. EFH had seen a net loss of 9,000 residential customers from June 30, 2014 to September 30, 2014; a net increase of 5,000 residential customers from March 31, 2014 to June 30, 2014; and a net loss of 10,000 residential customers from December 31, 2013 to March 31, 2014.

As of March 31, 2015, EFH retail companies were serving 1.503 million residential customers, versus 1.499 million as of December 31, 2014, and 1.506 million a year ago.

EFH retail companies were serving 175,000 small business meters (< 1 MW) as of March 31, 2015, versus 176,000 as of December 31, 2014, and 173,000 a year ago.

EFH retail companies were serving 27,000 large business meters as of March 31, 2015, up from 22,000 as of December 31, 2014 and 17,000 a year ago.

Total customer count for the EFH retail companies was 1.705 million as of March 31, 2015, versus 1.697 million as of December 31, 2014 and 1.696 million a year ago.

Total EFH retail provider electric volumes for the quarter ending March 31, 2015 were 9,471 GWh, versus 8,713 GWh a year ago. Of the March 31, 2015 total, 5,107 GWh were residential volumes.

Total EFH retail electricity revenues were $1.053 billion for the quarter ending March 31, 2015
