United Illuminating Default Service Rates To Fall By One-Third (C&I Rate To Fall to 3¢)

United Illuminating has filed new default service rates for the period beginning July 1, 2015, and the new residential Standard Service rate will decrease by one-third

The July 1, 2015 UI residential (Rate R) Generation Services Charge (GSC) will be 9.1856¢/kWh. The current UI Rate R GSC is 13.3524¢/kWh.

Both GSC rates (and all rates below) do NOT reflect the bypassable Federally Mandated Congestion Charge, which UI is proposing to update to (0.0615)¢/kWh, from the current (0.0416)¢/kWh.

New Standard Service Generation Services Charges (GSC) for July 2015 through December 2015 are as follows, in cents per kWh (for Rates LPT & GST, rates only applicable for customers under 500 kW).

The Last Resort Service Generation Services Charge (GSC) rates for the three-month period beginning July 1, 2015 are as follows, in cents per kWh:

Rates GST & LPT*, Above 500 kW
Jul (all hours):      4.9163
Aug (all hours):      4.2773
Sept (all hours):     3.6663

*Rate LPT Shoulder & Off-peak price is the same

UI is self-managing LRS service during the period beginning July 1, 2015.
