Order Grants License to Supplier, Requires $18,000 Donation To Fuel Fund
A final Connecticut PURA decision granted an electric supplier license to REP Energy, LLC, and conditioned the license on, among other things, an $18,000 donation to Operation Fuel.
PURA found that, "upon further consideration of the evidence presented at and subsequent to the hearing, the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority finds that REP Energy, LLC has satisfied the technical, financial, and managerial requirements to obtain an Electric Supplier License."
"Nevertheless, there is sufficient evidence of potential mismanagement based on REP Energy, LLC's previous mishandling of its Electric Supplier License to warrant setting conditions on REP Energy, LLC's license," PURA said

The $18,000 charitable contribution required as a condition of licensure is calculated based on a potential penalty which could have been sought related to the prior mishandling of the license, and the non-filing of certain annual compliance filings which resulted from the mishandling
