NEM Honors Regulators With Awards For Advancement of Retail Energy Markets
The National Energy Marketers Association, at its recent national restructuring conference, honored three regulators for their advancement of retail energy markets.
Pennsylvania PUC Commissioner James Cawley received a Lifetime Achievement Award for the Advancement of Competitive Energy Markets. Cawley has served two tenures on the PUC, the most recent beginning in 2005.
Cawley received a standing ovation from NEM members for his service.
Steven Lesser, former Commissioner at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, was awarded an Outstanding Public Service Leadership Award for the Advancement of Competitive Energy Markets. Lesser served as Commissioner at PUCO from 2010 to 2015, and served on the PUCO Staff, including as Chief of Staff, previously
Calvin Timmerman, Assistant Executive Director of the Maryland Public Service Commission, received an Outstanding Public Service Leadership Award for the Advancement of Competitive Energy Markets. Timmerman joined the Maryland PSC in 1989 and has managed the Staff's gas and electric restructuring and retail competition activities since 1994
