Retail Supplier to Drop Pennsylvania Customers to Default Service
Blue Pilot Energy will drop its Pennsylvania electric customers to default service to the extent they do not choose another supplier in response to a notice from Blue Pilot that it is exiting the market, according to the Office of Consumer Advocate.
The OCA, citing a Blue Pilot filing with the Pennsylvania PUC, said that Blue Pilot had 218 remaining customers in Pennsylvania at the time it filed with the PUC to withdraw its supplier license.
As summarized by the OCA, to the extent that Blue Pilot customers do not choose another supplier, Blue Pilot intends to return the remaining customers to default service by the end of June 2015.
While EnergyChoiceMatters.com previously reported Blue Pilot was in the process of surrendering its Pennsylvania license (in our story concerning Blue Pilot's drop of a handful of Maryland customers to SOS, click here), it was not previously clear whether that would implicate a drop of customers to default service, or if Blue Pilot had disposed of customers in some other manner (natural attrition and/or book sale).
