Utility To Seek Waiver of Requirement to Offer Time of Use Rate Through Retail Supplier For One Year
Duquesne Light has informed the Pennsylvania PUC that, by the end of the month, it intends to seek a waiver of a requirement that it offer, for a limited one-year term, a Time of Use generation rate program that was to be supplied by a single retail supplier.
The requirement for Duquesne Light to offer, for a 12-month period beginning June 1, 2015, a TOU program under which service would be provided by a single retail supplier selected via RFP was part of a settlement in Duquesne Light's most recent default service proceeding.
The program was to be limited to one year, with a collaborative to address TOU service starting June 1, 2016, with the collaborative to consider adopting a TOU program allowing for multiple retail supplier participants for the period starting June 1, 2016.
Duquesne Light said that it would provide additional details in its formal waiver request to be filed by May 31.
"The Company further notes that it will hold the TOU collaborative provided for under the Stipulation for the TOU program commencing June 1, 2016, and intends to implement a TOU program beginning June 1, 2016," Duquesne Light said
