State Closes Investigation of Retail Supplier Without Taking Further Action
The Connecticut PURA has closed an investigation of Connecticut Gas & Electric, Inc., a trade name for a U.S. Gas & Electric company, without further review or action
Originally, Docket No. 13-07-15 was opened to further review two issues related to USG&E:
• The use of what PURA termed "daily variable" rates and whether such rates were consistent with then-applicable statute (with USG&E explaining PURA misinterpreted how USG&E rates are applied, see prior story for more details), and
• Certain customer complaints
"Following extensive PURA technical and legal staff analysis of the record in this proceeding," PURA's Chairman Arthur H. House, said in a memo that, "I concur with their recommendation that Docket No. 13-07-15 be closed without further review or action."
Connecticut Gas & Electric, Inc. said that it is pleased with the outcome of this matter.
