MidAmerican Retail Supplier Plans Expansion
As noted in our related story today concerning the spinoff of MidAmerican Energy Company's unregulated retail services division from the utility into a stand-alone retail supplier inside Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company, MidAmerican's indirect parent company, MidAmerican said that the unregulated retail services division plans to expand into additional deregulated electric markets
As part of the planned expansion into additional deregulated electricity markets, the unregulated retail services division, which is to become MidAmerican Energy Services, LLC, could include, "New Jersey, New York, California and Massachusetts," MidAmerican said.
MidAmerican's unregulated retail services division operates as a retail electric supplier in Illinois as well as six other states and the District of Columbia
