Reporting by Paul Ring • ring@energychoicematters.com

Public Service of New Hampshire (Eversource Energy) has requested a 15% reduction in its default energy service rate effective July 1.

Specifically, PSNH sought PUC approval to set the default service rate at 8.98¢/kWh, versus the current 10.56¢/kWh.

Both rates include the bypassable charge of 0.98 cents/kWh for costs associated with the Merrimack scrubber

PSNH's formal request for a new default service rate is essentially in-line with its prior forecast of 8.94¢/kWh for the July 1 rate
