Chesapeake Utilities Marketer Seeks Retail Supplier License in New State
Peninsula Energy Services Company, Inc. has applied for an Ohio natural gas supplier license to serve all sizes of non-residential customers at Columbia Gas of Ohio and Dominion East Ohio.
Peninsula Energy Services Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation.
Peninsula Energy Services Company currently serves approximately 3,000 commercial and industrial customers in Florida, Delaware, and Maryland, with sales of 10.0 bcf annually. Specifically, Peninsula Energy Services Company provides gas to customers on the following systems:
• Florida: Peoples Gas, Florida City Gas, Central Florida Gas, Florida Public Utilities, Lake Apopka Natural Gas District, Sebring Natural Gas, Indiantown Natural Gas, Lake City Natural Gas, Florida Gas Transmission
• Delaware: Chesapeake Utilities Delaware Division, Delmarva Natural Gas, Eastern Shore Natural Gas
• Maryland: Chesapeake Utilities Maryland Division, Eastern Shore Natural Gas
Peninsula Energy Services Company is also licensed as a retail gas supplier in Pennsylvania.
In Ohio, Peninsula Energy Services Company has also listed the trade name Aspire Energy of Ohio on its certificate application.
Chesapeake Utilities Corporation's Aspire Energy subsidiary recently completed the acquisition of Gatherco, which provides natural gas gathering services and natural gas liquid processing services to over 300 producers, and supplies wholesale natural gas to over 6,000 customers in Ohio through the Consumers Gas Cooperative, an independent entity which Gatherco manages under an operating agreement.
