Update: Texas TDU Reports on REP Reimbursement Low-Income Smart Thermostat Program
Texas-New Mexico Power has filed with the Public Utility Commission of Texas its six-month report regarding the program under which REPs provide free programmable communicating thermostats and in-home displays (collectively, in-home devices) to low-income customers, with costs, up to a cap, reimbursed by the TDU
TNMP reported that from January 1, 2015 through June 30, 2015, it provided $109,975.00 in reimbursement to retail electric providers who distributed 317 in-home devices to 317 eligible low-income customers in TNMP's service territory. Additionally, TNMP incurred $3,878.50 in internal administrative costs.
The amount that remains available for distribution under the program at TNMP is $11,146.50.
Under the program, REPs were reimbursed for 119 programmable communicating thermostats and 198 in-home displays
TNMP also reported that participating REPs were Brooklet Energy, Champion Energy, Entrust Energy, and Frontier Utilities
TNMP's report, filed in Project 36234, also includes distribution of device by zip code.
