Retail Supplier Ceases Listing Offers from Brand Sharing Utility Name on Power to Choose Site
Direct Energy has ceased listing offers on the New York Power to Choose site under the brand NYSEG Solutions.
Direct Energy has also ceased listing offers on NY Power to Choose under its Energetix and Gateway Energy Services brands.
Direct Energy is instead listing offers under its Direct Energy Services brand.
Asked about the brand change on the NY Power to Choose site, Direct Energy said that it is choosing to promote its Direct Energy Services offers on the site. Direct emphasized that it could elect to promote the other brands again if it so chose
Service to existing customers on its other brands continues and remains unchanged
Direct Energy had acquired the NYSEG Solutions and Energetix brands in acquiring those retail suppliers from Iberdrola.
As Direct's continued use of the NYSEG Solutions brand under a licensing agreement had been an issue at the PSC, we asked if the recent change was prompted by the PSC, to which Direct replied, "There has been no communication from the PSC directing us to discontinue our use of either the NYSEG Solutions or Energetix brands."
