Pennsylvania Sees First Statewide Increase in Residential Shopping Since November

In the wake of recent significant increases in default service rates, July saw statewide residential electric migration increase in Pennsylvania for the first time since November 2014.

Statewide, Pennsylvania residential shopping increased by nearly 7,000 accounts from the end of June 2015 to the end of July 2015, with all of the large EDCs seeing an increase in residential shopping with the exception of Duquesne Light.

Pennsylvania had seen residential electric shopping decline by a net of nearly 15,000 accounts from late May to late June, with a decline of 10,000 accounts from late April to late May.

The change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each utility from late June to late July was:
