ConEd Confirms Plans To Sell ConEdison Solutions Retail Electric Supply Business, Provides Timeline

Consolidated Edison, Inc. said in a 10-Q filed Thursday that, "[d]uring the three months ended June 30, 2015, Con Edison initiated a plan to actively market and sell the retail electric supply business of its competitive energy businesses."

"The company expects the sale to close within the next twelve months," Consolidated Edison, Inc. said

While Consolidated Edison, Inc. had previously disclosed that it was considering "strategic alternatives" for the ConEdison Solutions retail electric supply business, the recently filed 10-Q is the first time the company has used the more definitive language disclosing that it was actively marketing the business for a sale.
