Japanese Retail Energy Company Says It Is Advancing Towards JV With U.S. Retail Supplier
Japanese retail electricity provider E-Rex Co. Ltd. issued a news release earlier this month stating that it is advancing plans to form a joint venture with Spark Energy, Inc. to form a retail supplier serving the Japanese small volume retail electricity market (residential and small C&I) when it opens next April.
eRex currently serves the large C&I market in Japan.
Spark Energy said that while it is working on an agreement, "there is nothing formal in place."
In its news release, eRex said that the companies continue to work to create the JV with an effective date of October 1, 2015
According to eRex, plans contemplate that eRex will own 80% of the JV, and Spark will own the remaining 20%, but as noted by Spark, nothing has been finalized
