Retail Provider Selected by District of Columbia to Supply Electricity to More Than 700 Municipal Accounts
WGL Energy has been selected to supply approximately 400,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity to more than 700 District of Columbia city government accounts.
Service to these accounts started this month.
The D.C. Department of General Service said that the agreement transitions the city accounts from a 100 percent fixed price, full-requirements purchasing contract to a block and index strategy
Under the new strategy, DGS will purchase blocks of electricity at fixed rates and the remaining portion on the PJM real-time market.
