Retail Supplier To Expand to Community Solar
Ethical Electric informed the New York PSC that it is, "expanding into community solar and other clean energy products."
Ethical Electric made the disclosure in comments to the PSC concerning revised rules governing ESCO marketing and eligibility -- particularly a proposed new definition for "green" energy
Ethical Electric said that, "Ethical is actively planning entry into the community solar market. However, for community solar to succeed and grow to scale, there should not be caps on community solar programs. Rather, community solar should be permitted to increase as the market demand dictates, much in the same fashion as green power can grow to meet demand. As community solar is implemented, Ethical recommends that the Commission address certain financial and credit collateral obligations required of a load-serving entity, so that using off-take from new generation would be a viable option. This is effectively the essence of community solar."
