Texas Retail Provider Unveils What It Calls "Disruptive" Electricity Shopping Platform (Presents Plans As Monthly Cost Based on Usage Data)
Power Express, a Texas retail provider in the Volterra Energy Holdings family, announced it has launched a "revolutionary" web platform, "to redefine the way Texas residents shop for an electricity provider by removing price confusion and calculating the optimal, low cost electricity plan for their specific needs."
The platform is notable in presenting the estimated total monthly cost of each plan for the specific usage level in addition to the average per kWh rate, based on user-inputted usage (either an inputted specific usage level or a level determined by selection of apartment versus small or large house). The quoted average price excerpted on the webpage is based on 1,000 kWh.
Additionally, the usage data is annualized, and shoppers can click a "cost comparison" to see the estimated cost per month for each different month of the year based on such estimated annual usage.
Moreover, customers can adjust their usage using a usage "slider" on the page, and instantly see the impact in the total monthly cost of each plan (without having to reload the webpage).
Cost estimations are calculated based on inputted annual kWh usage, estimated monthly kWh usages and each products’ energy charge, transmission distribution service provider charges, and any usage credits or fees that may apply. Actual monthly costs may vary. State, local taxes may apply.
Although customers can scroll through a variety of offers, the site initially lists three products for review.
"By using big data and proprietary analytics, customers can now input key usage characteristics to view monthly cost projections and optimal plans from Power Express’ product suite with complete transparency," the company said
Power Express's new site includes a knowledge center and an Apartment management portal to allow realty and apartment professionals to manage their properties energy needs.
