Streak of Statewide Growth in Pennsylvania Residential Electric Shopping Ends At Two Months

September saw a return to declining statewide residential electric migration in Pennsylvania after two consecutive months of statewide growth.

Specifically, from late August to late September, Pennsylvania saw a decline of nearly 22,000 residential customers on competitive supply. This compares to monthly growth in residential migration of about 7,000 and 4,000 accounts during July and August, respectively.

The September decline was largely driven by significant decreases at several of the FirstEnergy EDCs and Duquesne Light, presumably as more FirstEnergy Solutions customers reach the end of their long-term contracts which as previously reported FES is not renewing.

The change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each utility from late August to late September was:
