National Grid Files To Decrease Default Service Rate 15%

Narragansett Electric (National Grid) has filed with the Rhode Island PUC to decrease its electric default service rate effective January 1, 2016

The new residential Narragansett Electric default service rate would be 8.901¢/kWh for the period January 1, 2016 through September 30, 2016. That's about 15% lower than the current residential SOS charge of 10.405¢/kWh

All prices in this story include the Standard Offer base charge, Standard Offer Adjustment, SOS Admin. Cost Factor, and the Renewable Energy Standard Charge

Non-residential default service rates would be as follows (¢/kWh):

Commercial (C-06, G-02 and SL)

Fixed Rate Option: 8.327
