PUCO Accepts Results Of AEP Ohio Default Service Auction
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) accepted the results of AEP Ohio’s third wholesale auction that will ultimately determine retail generation service rates for its Standard Service Offer through May 2018.
The results from the November auction, along with previous and future auctions will be blended to create AEP Ohio’s price-to-compare for the delivery period of June 1, 2016 to May 31, 2018.
During the 13-round auction, held Nov. 3, 2015, six competitive suppliers submitted winning bids for 17 tranches of a 24-month product to supply electricity to AEP Ohio’s SSO customers, which resulted in an average clearing price of $48.29 per megawatt-hour for the delivery period of June 1, 2016 to May 31, 2018.
The names of the winning bidders will remain confidential for 21 days.
