United Illuminating Default Service Rates To Increase Nearly 20%

United Illuminating's residential and small C&I Standard Service Generation Services Charge (GSC) will increase 15-20% on January 1.

The January 1, 2016 to June 30, 2016 UI residential (Rate R) Generation Services Charge (GSC) will be 10.7973¢/kWh. The current UI Rate R GSC is 9.1856¢/kWh.

Both GSC rates (and all rates below) do NOT reflect the bypassable Federally Mandated Congestion Charge which UI is proposing to maintain at (0.0615)¢/kWh.

The Rate GS rate will see a similar increase from about 9¢/kWh to over 10.6¢/kWh

New Standard Service Generation Services Charges (GSC) for January 2016 through June 2016 are as follows, in cents per kWh (for Rates LPT & GST, rates only applicable for customers under 500 kW).
