Start-Up Retail Supplier Led By Market Vets Launches Service In New York

Trident Power, the start-up retail supplier led by several veterans of Spark Energy, has launched service in New York

At ConEd (Zone J), Trident Power is offering the following fixed electricity plans to residential customers (¢/kWh):

3  Months Fixed                  10.81¢
12 Months Fixed                  11.12¢
18 Months Fixed                  10.92¢
24 Months Fixed                  10.21¢
12 Months Fixed, 100% Green      12.72¢
18 Months Fixed, 100% Green      12.11¢
24 Months Fixed, 100% Green      11.88¢

Each fixed plan includes an early termination fee of $15 per month remaining on the contract, except for the 3-month plan, which has an early termination fee of $25 per month remaining on the contract

Trident Power is also offering a variable plan at ConEd for residential electric customers under which, for the first two months of the plan, the customer will receive a discount of up to 10% off of ConEd's base commodity rate. The variable plan includes a monthly fee of $5.95 per month per meter and a term of 12 months, with an early termination fee of $150.00 or $8 per remaining month on contract, whichever is less. As listed on NY Power To Choose, the variable plan has an initial rate of 7.6¢/kWh

Trident Power is also offering natural gas to residential customers at ConEd, with a 12-month fixed offer of 58¢/therm. Additionally, Trident Power is offering residential natural gas customers at ConEd a 12-month fixed, 100% carbon offset product with a rate of 71.56¢/therm with a monthly fee of $5.95. For both fixed gas plans, an early termination fee of $15 per month remaining on the contract applies

Residential customers at ConEd can bundle Trident electric and natural gas service to receive a discount on each product. The bundle includes the 18-month fixed rate electric plan described above priced at 10.91¢/kWh and the 12-month fixed rate natural gas plan described above with a rate of 57¢/therm

Trident Power's terms of service also indicate it will be offering natural gas to residential at KeySpan New York (Brooklyn Union/National Grid), though offers were not yet available on its site

Trident Power's website states that commercial service is also available.

As previously reported, Trident Power is in the process of entering Pennsylvania and Maryland as well
