Texas REP To Drop Unused Trade Name in Series of Certificate Changes
Star Electricity, Inc. (StarTex Power) informed the Public Utility Commission of Texas that it will be merged into its parent company, Constellation NewEnergy, Inc. effective December 31, 2015 at 11:59 pm. Thereafter, Star Electricity, Inc. will cease to exist and all of its customers and their deposits will become assets of Constellation NewEnergy, Inc. as a matter of law. As a result, Constellation NewEnergy sought to add the trade name StarTex Power to its REP certificate, while Star Electricity sought to relinquish its certificate as it will no longer be used. Notably, StarTex Power is currently authorized to also use the trade name SmartPay Power (although it is believed that the name has not been used for some time), but Constellation NewEnergy did not seek to add the SmartPay Power trade name to its certificate.
The Turner Group Seeks New License
The Turner Group, LLC applied for a Connecticut electric aggregator certificate to serve all customer classes in all service areas.
FS Energy Receives License in New State
The Pennsylvania PUC granted FS Energy LLC an electric broker/marketer license to serve all customer classes at PECO
