Texas TDUs Report Funds Still Available for REP Reimbursements for Provision of Smart Energy Devices To Low-Income Customers
Several Texas TDUs have filed updated reports, with data as of October 31, on the program under which Texas retail electric providers are reimbursed for providing no-cost programmable communicating thermostats (PCT) and in-home displays (IHD) to eligible low-income customers.
Oncor reported that from May 1, 2015 through October 31, 2015, Oncor provided $1.6 million in reimbursements to REPs that distributed 4,915 devices (2968 PCTs and 1947 IHDs) to 3,494 eligible low-income customers in Oncor's service territory. Some $7.1 million remained available for REP reimbursements under the program at Oncor as of October 31.
AEP Texas Central reported that from May 1, 2015 through October 31, 2015, there were 94 Programmable Communicating Thermostats (PCTs) and 151 In-Home Devices (IHDs) distributed in TCC's service territory for a total of 245 devices. TCC provided $69,000 in reimbursements to participating REPs during this period, with $430,000 remaining available for REP reimbursements as of October 31.
At AEP Texas North, there were 0 Programmable Communicating Thermostats (PCTs) and 13 In-Home Devices (IHDs) distributed in TNC's service territory for a total of 13 devices. TNC provided $3,900.00 in reimbursements to participating REPs during this period, with $182,000 remaining available for REP reimbursements as of October 31.
