IGS Energy Acquires Retail Supplier

IGS Energy announced that it has acquired the retail supply business of DPL Energy Resources

The transaction became effective January 1, 2016.

DPL Inc. decided to sell the DPLER retail business to IGS Energy, exiting retail energy supply in the Ohio market, to focus on its core business – electricity generation, transmission, and distribution, according to a news release

"We are excited about this transaction," stated Scott White, president and CEO of IGS Energy. "We have a very strong, positive brand reputation in the industry, which is extremely important to us. DPL Energy Resources also has a very solid brand presence – which was a key consideration in our decision to acquire the company and grow our customer base."

Last year, IGS acquired Border Energy, a retail supplier of natural gas and electricity. In 2010, the company acquired Accent Energy, an electric retail supplier.
