Utility Updates PSC on Ability To Implement Accelerated Switches, Would Need Temporary Waiver
Potomac Edison informed the Maryland PSC that if the PSC adopts an accelerated 3-business day period for EDCs to execute switches, it will request a temporary waiver of the requirement until the end of 2016

Potomac Edison informed the PSC that if such rules are adopted as final, "it will be necessary for Potomac Edison to request a temporary waiver of the requirements that a utility process a supplier enrollment or drop request, or a customer drop request, to be effective within three business days."
"As will be further explained in its waiver petition, Potomac Edison will be unable to accommodate these accelerated switching requirements upon the expected effective date of the subject regulations. As of this time, Potomac Edison expects that necessary programming changes can be accomplished and the new switching parameters put in place by December 30, 2016," Potomac Edison said
