FirstEnergy-PA Prices To Compare To Decrease 15%
The FirstEnergy Pennsylvania utilities have filed new tariffed PTCDefault rates with the PUC for the three-month period starting March 1, 2016.
Although the utilities have not posted official Prices to Compare on their website, PA Power Switch is now listing an "actual" Price to Compare for the period beginning March 1, 2016. In the past, PA Power Switch posted PTCs have differed from the official PTCs posted by the FirstEnergy utilities by a few mills/kWh, ostensibly due to rounding.
The PTCDefault rates are the all-in default service rates without the application of the State Tax Adjustment Surcharge (essentially, the PTC prior to application of the STAS), which is currently 0%.
For residential customers at Met-Ed, Penelec, and West Penn Power, the new PTCs are about 15% lower than the current PTCs. The only class seeing an increase in the PTC is the small commercial (GS) class at Penn Power, where the PTC is increasing about 7%.
At Met-Ed, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will be 7.072¢/kWh effective March 1, versus the current 8.305¢/kWh.
At Met-Ed, the March 1 actual residential PTC as listed on PA Power Switch is 7.07¢/kWh, versus the current 8.31¢/kWh
At Penelec, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will be 6.516¢/kWh effective March 1, versus the current 7.554¢/kWh.
At Penelec, the March 1 actual residential PTC as listed on PA Power Switch is 6.52¢/kWh, versus the current 7.55¢/kWh
At Penn Power, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will be 7.878¢/kWh effective March 1, versus the current 8.996¢/kWh.
At Penn Power, the March 1 actual residential PTC as listed on PA Power Switch is 7.88¢/kWh, versus the current 9¢/kWh
At West Penn Power, the tariffed residential PTCDefault rate will be 6.983¢/kWh effective March 1, versus the current 7.011¢/kWh.
At West Penn Power, the March 1 actual residential PTC as listed on PA Power Switch is 6.98¢/kWh, versus the current 7.01¢/kWh
At Met-Ed, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 7.601¢/kWh effective March 1, versus the current 8.123¢/kWh.
At Met-Ed, the March 1 actual PTC for Rate Classes GS and GM as listed on PA Power Switch is 7.6¢/kWh, versus the current 8.12¢/kWh
At Penelec, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 7.244¢/kWh effective March 1, versus the current 7.763¢/kWh.
At Penelec, the March 1 actual PTC for Rate Classes GS and GM as listed on PA Power Switch is 7.24¢/kWh, versus the current 7.76¢/kWh
At Penn Power, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 9.479¢/kWh effective March 1, versus the current 8.867¢/kWh.
At Penn Power, the March 1 actual PTC for Rate Class GS (under 500 kW) as listed on PA Power Switch is 9.48¢/kWh, versus the current 8.87¢/kWh
At West Penn Power, the tariffed commercial PTCDefault rate will be 7.504¢/kWh effective March 1, versus the current 7.547¢/kWh.
At West Penn Power, the March 1 actual PTC for Rate Class GS (under 500 kW) as listed on PA Power Switch is 7.5¢/kWh, versus the current 7.55¢/kWh
