Michigan Utilities File Final Choice Caps for 2016
Michigan utilities have filed their final electric choice cap numbers for 2016, based on 10% of weather-adjusted retail sales.
At DTE Energy, the 2016 choice cap is 4,696,245 MWh. Current choice sales of 4,953,883 MWh already exceed this cap
At Consumers Energy, the 2016 choice cap is 3,691,294 MWh. Current choice sales of 3,946,043 MWh already exceed this cap
At AEP (I&M), the 2016 choice cap is 283,755 MWh. There are currently no choice sales at I&M.
At Wisconsin Electric Power Company, the 2016 choice cap is 256,339 MWh. This is grater than current choice sales of 222,617 MWh.
At Wisconsin Public Service, the 2016 choice cap is 28,086 MWh. This is grater than current choice sales of 26,491 MWh.
At Northern States Power Company (Xcel), the 2016 choice cap is 13,777 MWh. There are currently no choice sales at Northern States Power
Final data for Upper Peninsula Power Company was not yet available from the PSC, but the company's cap tracking system was updated with weather-adjusted retail sales, resulting in a 2016 cap of 86,741 MWh. This is marginally greater than current choice participation, but the current choice queue more than exceeds any amount available under the new cap
