Michigan PSC Choice Report Includes Load, Customer Data For Each Supplier
The Michigan PSC has released its annual report on electric choice, which includes customer and load data for each supplier by utility service area

The PSC said that as of December 2015, there were approximately 6,140 customers participating in the electric choice programs (compared to 6,460 in 2014). This represents approximately 1,964 megawatts (MW) of electric demand, which is a decrease of about 390 MW from 2014. As of December 2015, approximately 11,000 customers remain in the queue.
The PSC said that electric choice load served in the Consumers Energy service territory at year-end 2015 totaled 751 MW, compared to 771 MW in 2014. The number of customers served by alternative electric suppliers (AESs) totaled 1,030 at year-end 2015, compared to 1,050 in 2014.
The PSC said that electric choice load served in the DTE Electric Company (DTE) service territory at year-end 2015 totaled 1,137 MW, compared to 1,168 MW in 2014. The number of customers served by AESs totaled 4,986 at year-end 2015, compared to 5,285 in 2014.
The PSC said that electric choice load served in the Upper Peninsula Power Company (UPPCo) service territory at year-end 2015 totaled 14.1 MW, compared to 14.24 MW in 2014. The number of customers served totaled 60 at year-end 2015, the same as year-end 2014.
The PSC said that electric choice load served at Wisconsin Electric Power Company (WEPCo) at year-end 2015 totaled 56.2 MW, compared to 386.4 MW in 2014. The number of customers served totaled 51, the same as year-end 2014.
The PSC said that electric choice load served at Wisconsin Public Service Corporation (WPSC) at year-end 2015 totaled 5.3 MW, compared to 4.5 MW in 2014. The number of customers served totaled 16 at year-end 2015, compared to 13 in 2014.
The PSC said that electric choice load served at Cloverland Electric Cooperative at year-end 2015 totaled 0 MW, compared to 9.4 MW in 2014, all of which was attributable to one customer.
The PSC said that Since April 2013, there has been no choice participation in Indiana Michigan Power Company's service territory.
The PSC said the electric choice programs at Consumers, DTE and UPPCo are fully subscribed at their 10 percent caps.
