Reporting by Paul Ring • ring@energychoicematters.com

Current Utilities, Inc. formally requested a hearing on a Notice of Violation issued against the company by the executive director of the Public Utility Commission of Texas

As previously reported, the NOV alleges Current Utilities has acted as an aggregator without a certificate, but Current Utilities vigorously denies the allegations, stating that it only brokers customers, and does not join customers in its procurement.

"Current Utilities, Inc. disputes the claim by Mr. Joshua Walters [Attorney, PUCT Oversight and Enforcement Division] that Current Utilities, Inc. is acting as an aggregator and has not been presented with any evidence by the PUC of any customers being aggregated," Current Utilities, Inc. said in its request for hearing

In its request for hearing, Current Utilities, Inc. said that it, "has absolutely no affiliation with My Cyberstaff, Inc. (which is a Philippine Corporation), nor Utilcare, Inc., which is a corporation wholly owned by Mr. Bastiaan Derksen, who has no affiliation with Current Utilities, Inc. in any manner whatsoever."

"It is our belief that the letter mailed to Current Utilities, Inc. regarding this matter was mailed in error to the address belonging to Utilcare, Inc. As such, Current Utilities, Inc. has received no formal letter from the PUC regarding this matter," Current Utilities, Inc. said
