National Grid Basic Service Rates To Fall 40%

National Grid fixed basic service rates for Massachusetts residential and commercial electric customers will fall to, or below, 8¢/kWh starting in May, under rates filed with the DPU.

National Grid has filed the fixed rates with the application of the current Basic Service Administrative Cost Adjustment Factors (BSACFs) and the Smart Grid Customer Cost Adjustment Factors (SGCCAFs), as well as with the application of updated BSACFs and SGCCAFs which are pending approval in a separate docket

The fixed basic service charge for residential customers, including changes to the BSACF and SGCCAF, is proposed to be 8.042¢/kWh. The current National Grid residential fixed basic service rate is 13.038¢/kWh.

The rates remain subject to DPU approval
