Retail Supplier Promoting New Flat Bill Electricity Offer in Pennsylvania
Commerce Energy has begun posting on PA Power Switch a flat bill electricity supply plan for residential customers that offers unlimited usage for a flat monthly price.
As previously reported, Commerce Energy's parent Just Energy first disclosed the offering of a flat bill product in Pennsylvania late last year, but previously none of Just Energy's brands were promoting the flat bill offer through PA Power Switch.
Specifically, Commerce Energy is listing the unlimited usage flat bill electricity plan on PA Power Switch for PPL residential customers and PECO Rate R residential customers
The plan is listed with the price per kWh field blank, and an estimated monthly cost. When sorting by lowest price per kWh price, the offer appears at the bottom of the chart
Pricing for the unlimited usage flat bill offer is based on customer historical usage and other factors, with customers segmented into different flat pricing tiers based on such factors. The PA Power Switch site currently lists the highest pricing tier at each utility -- $129.99 per month for PPL residential customers, and $134.99 per month for PECO Rate R customers. Commerce Energy told EnergyChoiceMatters.com that the cost of the unlimited usage flat bill offer may be as low as $35.99 per month for smaller homes.
The unlimited usage flat bill offers are 24 month plans, with no change in pricing during the term. There is no true-up at the end of the term.
Customers can avoid any early termination fee by calling the company to cancel. Just Energy said that this is now a standard promise across its brands
