Calpine: Likes Retail Business, Wants To See It Grow

Asked about additional retail supplier acquisitions during an earnings call, Calpine would not specifically discuss future M&A activity but told investors that it likes the retail business and would like to see it grow

When asked about future retail acquisitions, Chief Commercial Officer Trey Griggs noted that Champion Energy Services recently expanded C&I service to Connecticut and Maine, and that the company plans more of that type of continued organic growth

"We don't speak to anticipated future M&A activity, but you should expect that we like this business and would like to it see grow," Griggs said.

Champion Energy Services, "has been a great investment for us and it's, in fact, exceeding our expectations with respect to their contribution to the business and certainly their contribution in terms of forward liquidity to the platform," Griggs said.
