Ameren Default Service Rates To Decrease

Ameren has posted its Retail Purchased Electricity Charges for the period beginning June 1, 2016

The Retail Purchased Electricity Charges reflect base electricity supply and make up the majority of the Price to Compare. The total PTC also includes the Transmission Service Charge and the Supply Cost Adjustments. The total bypassable charge also includes the monthly Purchased Electricity Adjustment, which is not reflected in the PTC.

Official Ameren Prices to Compare for the period beginning June 1, 2016 have not yet been posted by the ICC

Ameren's new Retail Purchased Electricity Charges are as follows, for all rate zones (¢/kWh):

Classes reflect the following:
BGS-1 – Residential Service
BGS-2 – Small General Service
BGS-5 – Lighting Service

For comparison, Ameren's current BGS-1 Residential Retail Purchased Electricity Charge is 5.836¢/kWh for usage from 0 kWh to 800 kWh, and 3.739¢/kWh for usage above 800 kWh.

Amounts for the Supply Cost Adjustments (which combined are less than 2 mills for any class) for both Rider PER and Rider EUA can be found in Ameren's filing (click here)

Ameren's filing (click here) also includes indicative Retail Purchased Electricity Charges for the period October 1, 2016 to May 31, 2017; however, these rates are subject to change based on the results of a fall 2016 IPA procurement
