CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric (CEHE) announced in a market notice that the automated Historical Usage / LOA function on CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric’s Competitive Retailer Information (CRIP) system is now available for IDR accounts.

As previously reported, CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric has introduced a web-based automated Historical Usage / LOA request function on its Competitive Retailer Information Portal (CRIP). The new functionality is available to REPs, Aggregators, and other parties who currently request historical usage data using the manual Letter of Authorization (LOA) process. "We believe that the new system simplifies the process for parties requesting usage data, and allows us to fulfill LOA usage requests much faster than the manual process," CEHE said

"The automated Historical Usage / LOA function is now available for both non-IDR and IDR usage history requests. Parties may immediately begin requesting IDR data from the CRIP process. The system issues that CenterPoint Energy has experienced since March have been resolved, and the data provided for IDR accounts is identical in format and content to the data provided prior to the system issues," CEHE said

Neither the manual LOA process nor the automated process will provide AMS interval usage data. AMS interval data may be obtained from Smart Meter Texas.

There are a small number of ESI-IDs (approximately 150) for which IDR data will not be provided on the CRIP system. For CRIP requests involving those ESI-IDs, the requestor will be notified in the response email that the request is being fulfilled manually, and that the requestor will be contacted when the response is completed.

The CRIP Historical Usage / LOA request screen will now auto-populate the requestor’s name, email address, and other information from the requestor’s CRIP user profile. However, for the information to auto-populate, it must be present in the profile. A user’s profile may be edited by the organization’s CRIP administrator.

Requests covering multiple ESI-IDs should be limited to 80 ESI-IDs or fewer. "While the original design allows requests up to 500 ESI-IDs, we are currently researching an issue that occurs with requests of more than 80," CEHE said

The manual LOA process will remain in place; however, CEHE encourages all market participants to use the automated process.
