PURA Seeks Info To Determine Retail Supplier Compliance With New Billing Disclosures

The Connecticut PURA has sought information from the EDCs to determine whether suppliers are submitting newly required information to be listed on customer bills

Effective January 1, 2016, Eversource and UI began displaying additional generation supply information (Phase II Summary Information) on the first page of residential electric bills for customers taking generation supply service from a licensed supplier. The additional Phase II Summary Information includes the term of the offer, whether the offer is fixed or monthly, whether a cancellation fee applies and its amount and the generation supply rate that will be assessed during the customer’s next bill cycle. The EDCs display "Not Provided" when the information to populate a field is not submitted by the supplier or if other data transmission errors occur.

The PURA directed the EDCs, by supplier, for a recent billing period, to provide an excel table to show the total number of bills issued and the number of bills in which one, two, three or all of the Phase II Summary Information fields displayed "Not Provided."
