Green Mountain Energy Seeks Natural Gas Supplier License

Green Mountain Energy applied for an Illinois natural gas supplier license to serve residential and commercial customers in all service areas

"Green Mountain Energy Company intends to serve residential and small commercial customers in the service territories of Nicor Gas, Peoples Gas, North Shore Gas and Ameren Illinois," the company said in its application

Green Mountain Energy does not have any pending natural gas supplier applications in the United States, the company said

According to a New York PSC ESCO directory, Green Mountain Energy is listed as being licensed for natural gas, but the company's most recently filed retail access application form reflected only electricity service areas as retail access programs in which the company, "participate[s], or intend[s] to participate," and the company has not appeared on the New York Power to Choose site for residential customers

Based on a review of publicly listed supplier registries (which may not be updated frequently), Green Mountain Energy is not licensed as a natural gas supplier in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Michigan, California, or Massachusetts
