Reporting by Paul Ring • ring@energychoicematters.com

Washington Gas Light has filed with the Maryland PSC updated purchase of receivables discount rates, which would include an increase from the current residential POR discount rate of 0%.

Specifically, WGL proposes to increase the residential POR discount to 0.26%, effective for meter reading on and after August 25, 2016, from the current 0%

The increase is attributable to a higher bad debt component, net of late payment revenues, a refund of an over-collection of implementation costs, and reconciliation

WGL's non-residential discount would remain 0%.
