Ohio Governor Nominates Lawyer For Retail Suppliers, End Users for PUC Commissioner Seat
Ohio Gov. John R. Kasich has appointed M. Howard Petricoff to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO).
Petricoff would serve for a term beginning June 23, 2016 and ending April 10, 2020. This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Ohio Senate.
Petricoff recently retired after more than 30 years with the Columbus office of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP. At Vorys, Petricoff typically represented retail suppliers or end users.
Earlier in his career Petricoff served as an assistant Ohio attorney general from 1977 to 1982.
An adjunct professor of natural resources and energy law at the Capital University Law School, Petricoff is co-director of the school’s Midwest Energy Law & Policy Center. He served on the Ohio Oil and Gas Commission from 2005-2012, the last six years as chairman, and was chair of the Ohio State Bar Association’s natural resources committee in 2005-2006.
