WGL Energy Services today announced that the Pennsylvania Department of General Services has signed a three-year contract for Green-e Energy certified wind renewable energy certificates (RECs) sourced from wind farms throughout the United States.

The Department of General Services will match almost 400,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of its electricity load with national wind RECs under the contract which ends in 2018. DGS will be increasing the match of RECs to the electricity usage of its executive agencies from 10 percent to 30 percent over this 3-year contract.
