NY PSC Chair Audrey Zibelman To Keynote New York Energy Marketing Conference
Energy Marketing Conferences announced that Audrey Zibelman, Chair of the New York State Public Service Commission, will give a second keynote speech at the 6th Energy Marketing Conference on September 20th in New York City.
Zibelman recently said that the "injustice" of a Court order vacating the PSC's prohibition on ESCO service to mass market customers, absent guaranteed savings or 30% minimum renewable content, "will be short-lived."
Zibelman has recently said that, "as a result of the litigation, ESCO customers are still paying millions of dollars more every month than they should be paying for electric and gas services," noting that, "The Court’s decision recognizes the Commission’s authority and firmly sided with the Commission that it is both our right and obligation to protect consumers against price gouging and other abuses."
"More actions are necessary to protect other residential customers. The Commission will easily address the procedural concerns raised by the Court and will continue our work to ensure that all electric and gas consumers in New York have the protections they need and deserve," Zibelman recently said
Zibelman was confirmed as a Commissioner of the NY Public Service Commission on June 19, 2013, and was named Chair on September 3, 2013.
