NY Utilities Seek Extension on Low-Income ESCO Prohibition Order
Several New York utilities have sought a minimal one-week extension for compliance with one of the ordering paragraphs of the New York PSC's July 15 order which prohibits ESCO service to Assistance Program Participant (APP) customers.
Ordering Clause 3 requires the utilities to file with the Secretary, for Department of Public Service Staff review, drafts of the letters to be sent to energy service company customers that are assistance program participants informing them that they will be returned to utility service, within 30 days of the effective date of the Moratorium Order.
The Joint Utilities have engaged in discussions with Staff concerning development of these letters and after consulting with Staff, up to one week's additional time to finalize each utility's letter for filing is necessary, the utilities said
As such, the joint utilities request a 7-day extension to August 22, 2016.
