Direct Energy then pledged a $5 donation for each online customer enrollment and $2.50 for each offline customer enrollment throughout the life of the two-year opt-in program. The opt-in program is open to some 400,000 customers at Delmarva and Delaware Electric Cooperative.

The affinity donations per enrollment are in addition to an initial $10,000 charitable contribution made by Direct Energy to the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware. The initial $10,000 donation will be used to sponsor a guestroom in the house - The Direct Energy Room -- in perpetuity.
