Affiliate of Texas Generator Seeks Retail Electric Provider Certificate
LifeEnergy, LLC, the recently created retail supplier affiliate of LS Power, has applied for a Texas retail electric provider certificate.
In ERCOT, an LS Power affiliate owns a majority stake in the approximately 1,000 MW, coal-fired Sandy Creek generating station. Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. and the Lower Colorado River Authority have long-term contracts for a portion of the plant's capacity, but based on publicly available data, a majority of the capacity is marketed on a merchant basis.
In Texas, LS Power also has ownership in the Mustang generating station, which is located within the SPP.
