Texas PUC Staff Recommend Amounts For Assessment On Subject REPs To Fund Internet Broadcast of PUC Meetings
Staff of the Public Utility Commission of Texas have filed recommended fees to be allocated to retail electric providers and other companies to cover the cost of broadcasting PUCT meetings online.
PURA provides that a retail electric provider that serves more than 250,000 customers shall be subject to such an assessment.
Staff recommends the following fees be assigned to subject REPs:
There is no change in the number of REPs, or specific REPs, that would be subject to the assessment versus last year,
Also of note, Staff recommends the following assessments to generators:
The assessment applies to a power generation company that owns more than 5,000 megawatts of installed capacity in Texas. Due to power plant sales, NextEra Energy Resources, which had previously been subject to the assessment, would no longer be subject to the assessment
