National Grid Default Service Rates To Increase 20%
National Grid fixed basic service rates for Massachusetts residential and commercial electric customers will increase 20% to the 9-10¢/kWh range starting in November, under proposed rates filed with the DPU
While 20% higher than current summer rates, the rates are still well below the 13¢/kWh winter rate from the 2015-2016 winter default service period.
The fixed basic service charge for residential customers is 9.745¢/kWh, which reflects the currently effective Basic Service Administrative Cost Adjustment Factors (BSACFs) and the Smart Grid Customer Cost Adjustment Factors (SGCCAFs) and a proposed update to the GIS Adder
The current National Grid residential fixed basic service rate is 8.042¢/kWh.
