NY ESCO Ceases New Enrollments In Response To Show Cause Order

In its response to a show cause order, Smart One Energy, LLC informed the New York PSC that it has voluntarily ceased enrolling new customers and agrees not to begin enrolling new customers until the proceeding has been resolved

"Smart One is currently reviewing the allegations contained in the Order and is fully committed to cooperating with the Commission and Department of Public Service Staff ('Staff') to address and remedy, if necessary, any issues identified as a result of Smart One’s internal review. Smart One values the relationships and level of service it provides to its residential customers and consistently strives to comply with all applicable requirements for the provision of retail energy in New York State," the company said

"As such, and in light of the allegations in the Order, Smart One has voluntarily ceased enrolling new customers and agrees not to begin enrolling new customers until this proceeding has been resolved. In light of Smart One’s voluntary and proactive decision, there is no need for Smart One to show cause why it should not be precluded from enrolling new customers, and there is no need for the Commission to order that remedy," the company said
