Illinois Posts Pricing, Winning Bidders From Default Service Capacity Procurement

The Illinois Power Agency posted results from the September procurement of capacity for Ameren default service customers

For the delivery year June 2017 – May 2018, the IPA procured for Ameren customers 1,389 ZRCs at an average price of $143.20 per MW-day

For the delivery year June 2018 – May 2019, the IPA procured 465 ZRCs at an average price of $137.25 per MW-day

Winning suppliers were

• DTE Energy Trading, Inc.

• Dynegy Marketing and Trade, LLC

• Main Line Generation, LLC

• The Energy Authority, Inc.

Dynegy announced that it was a winning bidder in a news release, but said that, per the auction rules, Dynegy’s share of the awarded MW and the clearing prices is not being disclosed and remains confidential.

However, Dynegy said that, for planning year 2017/2018, Dynegy has sold a total of 1,288 MW of capacity from its MISO coal segment, excluding IPH, for a total of approximately $45.8 million.
